A second half strike from Hussein El Shahat was enough to give the reigning champions a win at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Derrick fordjour had the first chance of the game for Medeama but his effort was saved by the visitors goalkeeper…

It took a while before Ahly made the first attempt at goal, Emam Ashour after capitalizing from a mistake at the back blasted his effort wide.

Medeama had most of the possession but failed to test goalkeeper Mustapha Mohammed.

Bernadinho Tetteh also saw his header missed the target on the 38th minutes following a cross from Fatawu Hamidu.

Ahly held on and defended very well for the end of the first half.

Medeama return from recess going all out for the opener, Fordour saw his effort went wide on the 50th minute.

Ahly took a suprise lead on the 54th minute, as Percy Tau set-up Hussein El Shahat to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
