Bryan Mbeumo scores in Brentford’s 3-3 draw against Aston Villa

Bryan Mbeumo celebrated his return to Brentford’s starting eleven by scoring the team’s second goal, contributing to a thrilling 3-3 stalemate with Aston Villa.

The match counting for the 32nd day of play of the English Premier League took place at the Villa Park on Saturday April 6. The visitors trailed throughout the first half after Ollie Watkins 38th minute goal put Aston Villa Infront.

Speaking post the game, the Cameroon international criticized their game in the first half appreciating the team spirit in the second half

“We didn’t play great in the first half and the start of the second, but everybody showed great character to come back,” said Mbeumo.

“We have some points we need to work on. We know it’s a really tough place to play, they have a good team with good players, but the togetherness we have in the team is big.”

“It was just instinct,” said Mbeumo. “I saw [Reguilón] on the side and I tried to position myself as best as possible in the box to score. He’s a player with a lot of quality and experience.”

This is Mbeumo first start for the Bee’s since December 2023 when he sustained an ankle injury. The Cameroonian had been a substitute against Brighton, against Manchester United and against Burnley in match day 29 on the 16th of March.
