Mounir Debichi, the Secretary General of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has had his contract terminated after the institution learned he forgot to register their women’s football team for the African qualifiers of the Paris 2024 Olympic games.

CAF made public a list of affiliated teams for the tournament on Monday and conducted the draw this Tuesday without Algeria.

Sources say Algeria were not included in the draw because Mounir who was in charge failed to affiliate his nation.

The administrator who had the duty to affiliate his nation is said to have failed to do so within the deadline and not inform hierarchy of the situation.

A release from the office of president Djahid Zefizef confirmed the dismissal of the administrator while advertising the position.

Mounir was made Secretary General in November 2021 but left an indelible mark during his time.
