Bayern suspends Mane indefinitely

Bayern Munich have suspended Sadio Mane from all club activities indefinitely, for punching a team-mate while Leroy Sane in the dressing room after their 3-0 defeat in last Tuesday’s first-leg UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

Mane received his punishment, which takes immediate effect, at a club internal disciplinary hearing on Thursday after admitting a charge of violent conduct against his fellow Senegalese descent mate.

The 31-year-old has already been excluded from the rest of the first team training.

Mane climbed off the bench to complement Sane during Tuesday’s first-leg defeat at the Etihad Stadium but failed to provide the desired spark on the pitch but ended up sparking with his colleague in the changing room.

Sources say the club is considering putting up the African footballer of the year on the transfer out list in the upcoming summer.

Mane has struggled for form and fitness since arriving at the Allianz Arena from Anfield as replacement for Robert Lewandoski who joined Barcelona.

The African champion has scored three goals in eight appearances in the Champions League, six goals in 20 games in all competitions for Bayern.
