Experienced Cameroonian football Writer, Angu Lesley Ngwa Akonwi has been appointed CAF Media Officer for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to run from January 13 to February 11 across different cities in Côte D’Ivoire.

According to our sources, the body informed Angu and other concerned parties late last month before following up with a dispatch notification which assigned him to the Yamoussoukro venue hosting Cameroon, Senegal Guinea and The Gambia.

Angu who featured at the last AFCON in the same capacity was a surprise inclusion on FIFA’s list as participating member announcer during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and a content creator at CHAN 2022 earlier last year.

The tournament in Côte D’Ivoire will add to the growing list of events the former Line mark global public relations officer for Africa has participated in over the past few years.

Media Officer during CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League games in the past few years, Angu is part of the new CAF team giving African football a new shine.

The former Media Officer of Cameroon’s U17 national team has also done a handful zonal events in the Union of Central African football Federation (UNIFFAC).

Angu is expected to join the rest of the CAF team in the days ahead of the start of the tournament.
