Cameroonian-born Bertrand Mendouga has resigned, from his position of President, at the African Boxing Confederation.

The news fell on August 5,as the outcome of an Executive Committee meeting, held by the continent’s boxing bureau officials in Yaounde, amidst the ongoing African Boxing Championship at the Warda, Multipurpose Sports Complex.

The boxing administrator, was replaced by Omo Agege Siena Azania, of Nigerian descent to serve as interim. While elections take place in September.

Mendouga is the current boss of the Cameroonian Boxing Federation and President of zone 4.

The Cameroonian was elected as AFBC President, by 21 votes from the 41 African delegates, constituting the elective assembly.

It should be mentioned that, ever since Bertrand Mendouga was elected to the prestigious post of AFBC President. His ambition to blend the two positions of federation President and that of AFBC head, has led to the division of the boxing family.

With a faction perceiving the latter to have bridged the texts, governing the Cameroon Boxing Confederation.
