Cameroon international goalkeeper Simon Ngapandouetnbu has been rewarded for his impressive performances between the posts after being named Montpellier HSC’s Player of the Month for October 2026.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper received the club’s monthly award following a series of outstanding displays that helped Montpellier maintain their competitive push in France’s Ligue 2.

Ngapandouetnbu featured in four matches during October, keeping three clean sheets and demonstrating remarkable consistency in goal. His performances have increasingly made him one of Montpellier’s most dependable players this season.

One of his standout displays came against Annecy on October 31, when Montpellier secured a convincing 3-0 away victory. The Cameroonian produced nine saves to deny the hosts, earning another clean sheet and playing a decisive role in his team’s success.

That performance also earned him recognition in the Ligue 2 Team of the Week for Matchday 11, adding another individual honour to an increasingly impressive campaign.

The former Olympique de Marseille academy goalkeeper has continued to strengthen his reputation since establishing himself as Montpellier’s first-choice goalkeeper. His growing influence at club level is also encouraging news for Cameroon, as the Indomitable Lions continue to assess their goalkeeping options ahead of upcoming international assignments.

The October award represents another important milestone in Ngapandouetnbu’s development and further underlines the emergence of a Cameroonian goalkeeper making his mark in French football.

For Montpellier, having such a dependable presence between the posts could prove crucial in their ambitions this season. For Cameroon, his continued progress offers another positive development in the search for consistency and competition in the national team’s goalkeeping department.

Three clean sheets in four October appearances. Simon Ngapandouetnbu is making his presence felt in France.
