Cameroon defender Enzo Tchato has completed a move to Italian Serie A side Frosinone, ending a 17-year association with Montpellier.
The 23-year-old right-back has joined Frosinone after spending virtually his entire football career at Montpellier, where he progressed through the academy before breaking into the first team.
Tchato joined Montpellier at the age of seven and worked his way through the club’s youth ranks before making his senior debut in Ligue 1 in April 2022.
The son of former Cameroon international Bill Tchato, Enzo went on to establish himself as an important member of Montpellier’s first team, making more than 100 appearances for the French club.
His move to Frosinone represents the biggest club challenge of his career so far, with the defender now set to test himself in Serie A.
Tchato is regarded as a versatile defender who can operate at right-back and in other positions across the defensive line. His physical qualities and tactical versatility have helped him become an increasingly important player.
The transfer is also another step in the young defender’s international career. Tchato has represented Cameroon at senior level and will hope his move to Italy can further strengthen his position within the Indomitable Lions setup.
After 17 years in Montpellier colours, Tchato now begins a new chapter in Italy.
From Montpellier to Serie A — Enzo Tchato is ready for the next challenge.
