Cameroon’s return leg game of the futsal Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, has been carried forward due to the absence of the Indomitable lions in Luanda.
The game initially scheduled for Sunday, February 7, at the Kilamba Pavillon Arena in Luanda, has been postponed to Monday February 9th after both federations came to a compromise.
Cameroon’s failure to show up for their game raises questions and concerns of the federation’s reluctance to throw its weight behind the team participating in this discipline.
Cameroon suffered a humiliating 12-0 defeat at home, in the first leg against Angola as the latter showed superiority from start to finish and capitalizing on numerous defensive lapses to crucify Cameroon.
The resounding victory in Yaoundé confirmed Angola’s status as a team well known for its experience and dominance in this discipline.
This heavy defeat already dents Cameroon’s chances of qualifying for the final phase of the 2026 AFCON futsal tournament. The country now has not only the pressure of grabbing a qualification ticket but will attempt to restore pride, a mission that promises to be extremely daunting.
The match time(8pm -local time) and venue for this game which counts for the second leg of the final round qualifiers for the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), remains Unchanged.
