Morocco’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has launched a vibrant month-long national campaign designed to take the excitement of African football to every corner of the kingdom.
The initiative, which kicked off on November 11, will travel through all 12 regions of Morocco, stopping in more than 60 municipalities over 30 days. It seeks to involve Moroccans from all walks of life — from major cities to small rural communities — in the buildup to what promises to be one of the most festive editions of the continental showpiece.
The first two stops were held in Tahannaout and Boufakrane, where locals were treated to a colourful blend of football and culture. The days featured community matches, freestyle football demonstrations, musical performances, and interactive games for children and families. Fans also had the chance to meet Moroccan football legends who shared their memories and messages of unity through sport.
At each stop, organisers are setting up open-air spaces that transform town squares into mini football festivals — complete with merchandise stands, music, and competitions. The idea is to bring Moroccans together around a shared love for the game, and to ensure that even those far from the main host cities feel part of the continental celebration.
According to the Local Organizing Committee, the campaign is meant to serve as a bridge between Morocco’s regions and the spirit of African football, creating moments of pride, connection, and joy for citizens across the nation.
The nationwide roadshow forms part of a larger promotional effort as Morocco counts down to hosting the Africa Cup of Nations from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 — the country’s first AFCON on home soil since 1988. It reflects Morocco’s determination to make CAN 2025 not only a sporting success, but also a people’s festival that showcases Moroccan hospitality, culture, and passion for football.
