Isle of Hope Sports Academy have taken the decision to extend the contracts of two of their most high-profile players Simo Gedeon and Arrey Jefta barely days after they returned from the U-20 zonal tournament in Brazaville-Congo.

According to our sources within the club they have exercised the one-year option in Arrey Jefta and Simo Gedeon’s already contracts as a reward for their formidable previous campaign which has led to an increase in their stock.

Simo, formerly of Indomables and APEJES of Mfou joined ISOHSA in the build up to last season and had a great season, featuring as left-back and a midfielder. Simo’s great season was highlighted by performances against Dragon in the 2-1 win in Limbe and Panthere away from home amongst others.

Arrey on his part sparkled in his debut campaign ISOHSA of Limbe, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 21 games for the club.

In all, Jefta was scintillating last season for ISOHSA, helping the club first atop the relegation playoffs mini championship and achieving an unprecedented run in the Cup of Cameroon that saw them finish fourth after losing to Colombe of Dja and Lobo in the semi-final.

The club set an annual budget of 1.5 millions FCFA on each of the players before parties involved agreed to an extension before deadline day.

ISOHSA’s second Elite Two season will mark their tenth anniversary since creation but the fourth campaign since the Karl Njomo Mokake led team started the ambitious phase of the project.

Captain Ashu Brice and deputy skipper Ngange Wilson Jnr have their midfield mate from last season in Jefta who has to deal with fresh competition provided by the new players brought in by coach Mbock Maput for the coming season.

On his part, Simo is expected to continue for a spot in the left back role with Alfred Mbita who was his club and national team colleagues at Indomables and the Under-17 Lions respectively back in 2020.
