The Indomitable Lions will be without rugged center-back Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui this Tuesday when they take on the Warriors of Zimbabwe in the final round clash of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) bound Cameroon and Zimbabwe.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has notified it’s Cameroon associate about the development while advising them to take necessary dispositions to be without the Beijing Gouan sweeper.

Both nations meet in a formality contest at lunch time this November 19 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon’s political capital with the host hoping to get the better of the ‘stubborn’ Zimbabwe side that held them to a goalless tie in September in Kampala on their way back to the AFCON scene.

Ngadeu who picked up a second booking of this qualifying campaign in Cameroon’s only other goalless draw of the qualifiers against Namibia last Wednesday will sit out today’s clash, leaving coach Marc Brys with either Enzo Boyomo, Jean Charles Castelletto or even Guy Kilama as options to partner Christopher Maurice Wooh at the heart of the defense.

An entry for Castelletto will make a remake of the pair for most of the qualifiers and the finals of the last AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire while an Enzo entry will make his baptism with the five-time African champions.

Ngadeu, scorer of a goal and an assist provider in seven games under the Belgian coach will be pushing his colleagues from the stands.

The 33-year-old who has scored five goals in 55 games for Cameroon since his debut in September 2016 will be hoping whoever plays helps the team maintain their unbeaten run in the qualifier campaign.

A win for either nations secure the group winner status for the AFCON tournament planned for November and December 2025 in Morocco.
