Gabriel Abdala Zakwani, the deputy coach of the U-20 national team of DR Congo says it’s time for his nation to stand up and be counted in the category.

Zakuani who featured three Africa Cup of Nations and skippered his country made the declaration on Friday as his nation build up for the opener of the 2023 UNIFFAC U20 Fatshi Cup tournament on home soil.

“We have an objective to win this trophy, but we cannot put the kids under much pressure.

“Our U20s in DR Congo haven’t really been up to standard. It is time for us to show the world that there is talent here, Coach Gabi said.

“We are going into the tournament with joy and will. We had a great preparation and we hope that the players will put everything they learned in practice.

DR Congo face Gabon in the opening this Saturday before facing RCA on Tuesday.
