Traditional rulers from the Northwest Region of Cameroon left the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé in disappointment following PWD of Bamenda’s 0-2 defeat to Fovu of Baham in the final of the 2023 Cup of Cameroon.

The custodians and elites, who began watching the encounter with much anxiety and hope for victory, became troubled , when Fovu’s forward Hansi Mbappe beat two of PWD’s defenders to hit the opening goal at the 10th minutes of the game.

Hoping for a leveler from the boys of coach Constantine Bep. Some traditional rulers began supporting their jaws with their hands. Others discussing with each other.

These acts were accompanied by signs of worries, following the team’s poor performance.

The degree of sadness got to its apex, when Stephane Ikpeme, in a well executed set-piece scored the second for Fovu.

As the central referee blasted the final whistle, the highly expectant traditional rulers and elites, left the pitch one by one in a remorseful manner, with much regret.

Worthy of note, they had contributed in raising 50 Millions FCFA as support to the club in the build up to the final.
