The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has readjusted the women’s football schedule for the 2023 African Games taking place in Ghana.

This was done after the withdrawal of the Cameroon U-20 women’s team from the tournament due to financial constraints.

Cameroon was drawn in Group B to face Nigeria, Morocco, and Senegal but will not take part in the tournament.

The withdrawal left Group B with three teams that will play two instead of three group games.

According to the schedule, Nigeria and Morocco will play the opening match of the women’s football event on March 8, 2024.

The final of the women’s football event has been scheduled for March 21, 2024.

Cape Coast Stadium and Elmina Stadium will stage the women’s football event.

Nigeria won gold in 2019 during the last African Games.

After qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the Falconets are favourites to retain the gold medal.
