Striker Simon Msuva scored the only goal in Taifa stars 1-0 victory over Uganda in Ismaila on Friday evening.

The game played at Suez canal stadium ,Egypt embraced the East Africa derby in a group F encounter.

The first stanza looked sloppy as both sides never created enough chances.

Uganda had a few moments in it ,but all ended in square.

The best chance for Uganda came towards the end of first half after Ochaya shot in a typical angel was cleared by defender Dismas.

In second half ,Cranes head Coach Micho made a quick tripple substitution ,introducing in Steven Sserwadda , Mugulusi Isma and Richard Basangwa.

Bright start for Uganda as Taifa stars keeper Aishi Manula was forced in an early save courtesy of Basangwa shot.

Tanzania had a chance to take the lead but Mbwana Samatta volley was blocked easily in the defense.

Steven Sserwadda was subbed off, with Allan Okello replacing him after coming in the second half.

Uganda’s best moment to force the game into a draw came in the 90th ,but Mato cross went over past Ochaya in the penalty box.

The win today pushes Tanzania to the second position ,after Niger lost to Algeria on Thursday night.

Uganda sit at the bottom of the table on one point with now a game to play away in Dar-es-salaam next week on Tuesday.
