CHAN2022: CAF unveil competition’s mascot “Cobtan”

CAF on Friday,December 30,2022 unveiled the official mascot, for the African Football Championship(CHAN) named “Cobtan”. Barely one week and few days to the kick-off the tournament.

The official launch of the mascot was attended, by Algeria’s top officials and Minister Abderrazak Sebgag in-charge of Youth and Sports.As well as the President of the Algerian Football Federation and a cream of other football actors.

According to CAF and the Local Organising Committee, “Cobtan” in Arabic and literally translated in English as captain will be the face of the competition, scheduled to debut on January 13 to February 4th in Alger.

Going by the game schedules, host country Algeria will face Libya in the opening game.Information gathering regarding the competition, has been made available via the online platform www.cochan2022.com
