Yougouda Kada’s solo earn crucial win for Gazelle in Douala

A clinical second-half strike from veteran forward Alexis Yougouda Kada helped Gazelle FA to an important 1-0 win against Union Sportive of Douala this Sunday in match day 14 of the MTN Elite One championship.

Oumarou Sokba’s Union somehow failed to score across the duration of the game, though they had the best chances of the forgettable afternoon at the Bepanda Omnisport stadium.

Kada’s goal decided the contest that took Gazelle FA above Astres in an afternoon that nothing went right for the Brazilians of Bepanda.

The former New Stars and Cotonsport finisher scored two minutes from time after benefiting from a great ball from his mate from fellow forward Moustapha.

Union squandered great chances to at least score at home partly because of the goalkeeping exploits of Mbahbi Marcelin on goal for the men from the North region of Cameroon.

Mvondo, Joel Paten and Foning Roche were all guilty of wasting chances as the newcomers pulled yet again another upset a month after beating Astres in Douala.

The Garoua outfit conserved the advantage till the end to seal their fifth victory of the season and move further away from the relegation zone.

Union have suffered three defeats this season but remain among the clubs still battling to make the second spot which amounts to playoff qualification.
