Elite One side Yong Sports Academy has announced a new scouting partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) club Dallas FC. The announcement was made on Wednesday, July 17, via the academy’s official Facebook handle.
“We are excited to unveil the scouting partnership agreement between Yong Sports Academy and Dallas FC,” the communique stated.
This collaboration aims to identify and nurture football talent within Cameroon, leveraging Yong Sports Academy’s Pro Youth Project and extensive scouting network. The partnership is expected to provide talented players with opportunities for development and achievement.
Representing Dallas FC in this partnership are Andre Zanotta, Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director, and Matt Denny, General Manager. Zanotta, a trained lawyer, has an impressive background, having served as the executive director of Brazilian top-flight club Grêmio, where he played a crucial role in significant transfers and achievements in 2017 and 2018. He also held the position of sporting director at Santos FC, where he was instrumental in the historic transfer of Neymar to FC Barcelona in 2013.
Matt Denny, originally from the UK and a former professional footballer, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to talent scouting. His expertise will be invaluable in providing thorough analysis and guidance to enhance Yong Sports Academy’s scouting efforts.
Silas Mimba represented Yong Sports Academy in the partnership. The academy expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing their commitment to shaping the future of Cameroonian football and providing pathways to success for talented players. “We eagerly anticipate working alongside Dallas FC,” the communique added.
This partnership marks a significant step forward for both organizations, highlighting their shared dedication to the development of young football talent.
On June 29, the management announced the launch of the YOSA Pro Youth Project (YOSA PYP), a youth training and talent development scheme for the premier league side. This initiative aligns with the management’s ten-year plan, which aims to nurture and groom talent, construct a home stadium, and enhance expertise in player placement, among other goals.
All these positive moves are happening at a time there is an uneasy calm about who is the president of the club.
