Former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni and his wife Yvonne Lameen Ikhana, daughter of ex-Super Eagles coach Kadiri Ikhana, have finalised their divorce after 15 years of marriage.
The separation, concluded over a year ago, was based on irreconcilable differences. Both parties have reportedly agreed to move forward privately and maintain mutual respect as they focus on their individual pursuits.
Yvonne, known for her low-profile presence despite her football lineage, had been a constant supporter throughout Aiyegbeni’s playing career. The couple married in 2008 and share a long history connected to Nigerian football’s golden generation.
Aiyegbeni, 42, remains one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers with 21 goals in 57 appearances for the Super Eagles. He represented the country at several Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
At club level, he featured prominently in the English Premier League with Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, and Blackburn Rovers, before completing his career with spells in China and the Middle East.
Neither Yakubu nor Yvonne has issued a public statement regarding the divorce, and both are said to be focused on their respective professional and family commitments.
