  • ISOHSA will wrap their 2023/24 MTN Elite Two playoffs championship with a last game against Rangers
  • Mbeng Joel says the game is as important to the 2023 national interpools champions as all other matches this season

Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe defender, Mbeng Joel Acho has revealed they are targeting maximum points against Rangers of Bafut this Sunday at the MTN Arena in Mbouda.

The match day seven all-anglophone meeting against Rangers of Bafut counts for nothing as ISOHSA is assured of another season in the MTN Elite Two championship while the Northwest outfit has been relegated to its regional championship but Mbeng is not taking it for granted.

“Games against Rangers like the other day against Foncha Street FC have always been complicated. So we go into the game with the same kind of mentality we have had in other matches.”

ISOHSA have a 100% Elite record against Rangers of Bafut but the last meeting of the two sides at the University of Bamenda stadium in December needed an additional time goal from Ekene Calistus to confirm the victory for Limbe-based outfit.

Mbeng will be hoping to make his 19th appearance of the season for ISOHSA having joined the club from Victoria United in the build up to the season.

The versatile full-back has been a mainstay for ISOHSA since his redeployment from the winger role to a permanent right-back.

Scorer in the 3-0, win against Leopard and provider of four assists this season, wants more.

“We want to finish on a high. Personally it’s an important game and I want to cap satisfactory season with a win.”

ISOHSA need5 a win against Rangers to seal their place at the top of the relegation playoffs championship while Rangers have nothing to play for as even with a win and seven points they will not move out of the relegation zone.
