Ahead of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers with Rwanda, coach of Ghana women’s national team, Nora Hauptle has invited 23 players to camp to prosecute the game.

Fresh from scoring eight goals to help Ampem Darkoa claim the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League title in Benin City, Nigeria, Mary Amponsah got the nod of coach Hauptle.

Grace Asantewaa and Norway-based Evelyne Badu also made the list.

The squad which is dominated by foreign-based players had four home-based players and 19 foreign-based based including Yanga Princess of Tanzania player, Salifu Safiatu.

Winger Alice Kusi returns to the squad after an injury layoff while Midfielder Grace Acheampong also gets a call-up after a long absence.

This will be the first competitive outing for Hauptle as the coach of the Black Queens.

The focus is for the team to qualify for the next WAFCON after missing out on the last edition in Morocco thanks to a 2-1 aggregate loss to Nigeria.
