Volcan of Noun have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2024 FECAFOOT national interpools tournament after defeating Atlantic FC 4-2 at the FecaFoot technical center in Odza.
The victory sees Volcan top Group B with 9 points, putting them in a strong position to secure a spot in the Elite Two championship.
The match got off to a lively start, with Atlantic FC of Kribi taking an early lead. However, Volcan’s Adirou Njifou equalized before the halftime break. After the restart, Abdel Njoya put Volcan ahead in the 71st minute, only for Atlantic FC to draw level in the 75th minute. But Jules scored late on to secure a 4-2 win for Volcan.
The result has given Volcan a significant advantage in Group B, as they have now drawn level with Atlantic FC, who were already on 9 points prior to the match.
Volcan’s impressive run in the tournament continued, as they had earlier recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over Buea United, the representative from the South West region.
