U20 lions: Tendoh James earns first call up as Yvan Kenmoe names squad for UNIFFAC qualifiers

PWD’s left back Tendoh Elton James, has been handed his first call up to the Cameroon Under_20 National football team, ahead of the UNIFFAC Zone qualifiers for the U20 AFCON.

The UNIFFAC Zonal qualifiers are expected to be stage in Congo Brazzaville from December 07_18, and Cameroon’s U20 coach Yvan Kenmoe, has selected 20 home base players for the event.

16_year_old Tendoh, has been a main stay at the back for the Abakwa Boys this season, and has been consistent since he was handed his Elite one debut last season by coach David Pagou.

The youngster has captained PWD in majority of their league games this season, with the likes of regular captain Burinyuy Derick still struggling to get back to full fitness.

Coach Yvan Kenmoe has summon a team made of two goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders and six forwards.

Regulars like Kaiba Djawal, Yannick Noah, Junior Hecube and Patient Wassou, have all kept their places.

YOSA’s forward Chem Herbert, has also make the cut.

The seven countries taking part in the UNIFFAC Zone qualifiers, have been paired in two groups, with Group A consisting of Congo, DR Congo, Sao Tomé and Principe and the Central African Republic.

Cameroon will face neighboring Chad and Equatorial Guinea, in group B, with just the two group winners set to qualify for the U20 AFCON schedule for Egypt in February and March 2023.

Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, The Gambia, Uganda, South Sudan, Mozambique and Zambia, have already secured their spots for the event, with just the UNIFFAC Zone left to complete the list.
