Tunisia’s Ali Maaloul ends blistering international football career after AFCON exit

Tunisia’s left back, Ali Maaloul, has retired from international football after his country was booted out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations ongoing in Cote D’Ivoire.

Born on January 1, 1990, the 34-year-old Maâloul made his debut for Tunisia in July 2013, in a 1#0 loss to Morocco in the 2014 African Nations Championship qualification phase.

From July 2013 till date, Ali Maaloul has made 86 appearances for Tunisia ans has scored 3 goals.

During his time with Tunisia, Ali Maaloul and Tunisia finished as FIFA Arab Cup runner-up in 2021. Individually, he featured in the CAF Team of the Year in 2017 and the IFFHS Men’s CAF Team of The Year in 2020, 2021, 2022.
