Talented Academy sneaks into Cup of Cameroon, inherits heavyweight Talented Academy of Muyuka has been drafted into the round of 64 of the 2023 Cup of Cameroon despite losing their last qualifying match 0-1 against Legends FC of Kumba.

The Muyuka based outfit sealed their place in the 32nd finals following the elimination of Elite competition outfits UMS of Loum and Rangers of Bafut who have been slammed a two-year suspension from the national challenge Cup for absenting their matches last season.

The dismissal of UMS and Rangers vacated two additional spots for amateur clubs, one of which has been handed to Talented.

The Muyuka based outfit who are in their debut campaign in the Southwest regional championship will join Cinyodev FA of Buea and Legends FC of Kumba as the three amateur clubs from the region.

This Tuesday’s draw ceremony has pitted Talented against five-time Cup of Cameroon winners Canon Yaounde whose disappointing playoffs campaign extended their barren years in the national championship to 22.

While Talented have the historic outfit in their menu, Legend FC face ISOHSA in a Southwest regional derby while Cinyodev FA are up against Renaissance FC who are fresh from a disappointing MTN Elite Two championship season that was sanctioned by relegation to the center regional league.

Victoria United FC of 2017 remains one of the best Southwest amateur franchises in this competition since their amazing run to the semi finals that season.
