Nigeria players put up valliant displays for their teams across Europe last weekend.

They either scored or contributed assists to help their team’s quest in the league.

We take a look at their performances.

Macleans Chinonyerem (Lokomotiv Moscow)

Macleans Chinonyerem scored during her first league game of the season for the Russian side, Lokomotiv Moscow on Saturday.

The former Russian Champions defeated FK Yanisey 2-0 at the RZD Arena, Moscow.

Macleans scored the first goal of the game for Lokomotiv Moscow in the fourth minute of play to give her side an early lead.

Laissa Nascimento Santos doubled Moscow’s lead in the 45th minute.

Lokomotiv Moscow occupy the third position on the log while FK Yanisey.

Francisca Ordega (CKSA Moscow)

Francesca Ordega opened her goal account for the 2023 season in the Russian Supreme Division Women.

Her team CSKA Moscow defeated Dynamo Moscow 3-0 on Monday to win the Moscow derby in both sides’ first game of the league season.

The former Levante UD player scored the first goal of the game for her team in a superb fashion.

She controlled a pass inside the box before her volley beat the goalkeeper and hit the bar and hit the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

Five minutes into the second half, the visitors doubled their lead.

Nevena Damjanovic converted CSKA Moscow’s second goal off a corner kick.

From another corner kick, the ball hit Helena Bozic into her net to increase the visitors’ lead in the 57th minute.

CSKA Moscow were reduced to ten players after Milena Nikitina was sent off in the 62nd minute.

Yetunde Adeboyejo, Chidinma Okeke (FC Ramat Hasharon, Hapoel Beer Sheva)

Chidinma Okeke and Yetunde Adeboyejo were on the goal-scoring sheet on both sides as Hapoel Beer pipped Football Club Ramat Hasharon 3-2 in an Israeli women’s league encounter on Thursday.

FC Ramat Hasharon struck The first punch in the 42nd minute when Msipa Emmaculate opened the scoring for Yogev Tzemach’s side.

SPANISH LIGA F
Toni Payne (Sevilla FC), Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene (Las Planas), Rita Chikwelu (Las Planas)

Toni Payne continued her impressive form with an assist as her Spanish Liga F side, Sevilla played out a 1-1 draw with Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene’s Las Planas.

Las Planas has not won any of its previous six league games while Sevilla lost one of its last five games.

The visitors opened the scoring with an early goal in the fifth minute.

Payne set up Martin-Prieto Gutierrez who converted the first goal of the match.

12 minutes later, the host equalised as Laura Martinez made it 1-1.

Payne played for the duration of the match as she provided her fourth assist of the league season for Sevilla.

She has also scored three goals in 21 league games.

Her compatriots, Okobi saw 62 minutes before she was replaced by Paz Vilas Dono.

Rita Chikwelu in the 67th minute replaced Morocco’s Yasmin Katie Mrabet.

The results ensured that Sevilla occupy the seventh position with 27 points after 21 games.

Edna Imade (Cacereno)

Edna Imade turned heroine for her Spanish second division side, Cacereno as she helped her team play out a 1-1 draw with Cordoba on Sunday.

Cacereno had won two of its last five games with a draw and two defeats to Barcelona B and Albarcete respectively.

Cordoba on its side has won one of its previous five games and was in search of its first win since February 5, a 4-1 win over CD Juan Grande.

Spanish defender, Yanire gave the host the lead in the 39th minute.

Imade in the additional minutes of the first half equalised for the visitors ensuring that her side avoid another defeat.

She has scored nine goals in the league this season and occupy the second position on the goal scorer chart, four goals behind Barcelona B’s Ariana Arias.

Her team seats in the second position on the log with 39 points after 22 games, four points behind Barcelona B and two points short of Deportivo la Coruna.
