Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies on Saturday were presented with the Hollywoodbet Super League title after a 4-2 triumph over Richmond United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Salome Kekana, Lelona Daweti, Melinda Kgadiete, and Hlogi Mashego scored for the League Champions.
Lelona Daweti won the player of the match prize of 2,000 Rand.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies clinched its third straight league title and smiled home with a sum of 2 million Rand as prize money.
Sundowns Ladies will represent South Africa at the COSAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League with a bid to pick one slot if the team can win the title to make its third consecutive appearance at the Champions League.
At the other end of the table, Golden Ladies are relegated to the Sasol Women’s League after a 5-1 loss to TUT Ladies.
They joined Tsunami Queens in being relegated to the second tier.
This will be the first time in the Hollywoodbets Super League that two teams will be relegated to the Sasol Women’s League.
