Footballers from different parts of the Cameroon who attended the maiden edition of the Football Symposium organized by South West Football-Cameroon and football promoters on Friday, January 13  have appealed with organizers to repeat a similar event.

The football symposium organized in Buea with the theme “Bringing Light To Amateur Footballers” saw some close to 200 participants answering present. During the close to 4 hours of presentations and questions-and –answers session, the participants who came from in and out of the region urged the organizers to put in place many of such events in other parts of the country.

Nganjo Gordon Ngi all the way from Bamenda expressed his satisfaction and appeal with the organisers to extend the same initiative to the Northwest region and other parts of Cameroon. “I want to thank the organizers of such a wonderful event. We pray in the nearest future we should have such symposiums in other parts of Cameroon especially the North West Region. My journey from Bamenda to Buea to attend this program was a huge gain for me and my football career, I will never regret. Thanks to Facebook for making me come across information on the symposium. I’m grateful.” Nganjo said.

Josephine Shefa Batupe, a participant from Douala was full of praises for the organizers. “I am very happy after attending this symposium because I learned a lot and have solutions to some of my worries. I also saw a lot of youth that are ready to play football and possibly make a career out of it and I believe the symposium was the right platform for them to learn,” she enthused.

On his part, the President of the South West FECAFOOT Bureau applauded the organizers for such a marvelous initiative and promised that the bureau will come in fully in the next edition.

Hear him: “It is a great initiative as the players and stakeholders don’t understand their functions. Having such a symposium today is a wonderful initiative. I learned something myself from the symposium and I believe that others did same today including those who followed it online (Facebook) as well. It is a great initiative and I which to thank the organisers. I wish and pray they keep organising such symposiums over and over. Although the South West FECAFOOT Bureau wasn’t there to support them fully, I promised that in the next symposium we shall come in fully to support.
