Ifose Emile Mbella, the president of Southwest Futsal commission and his team have inspected Futsal facilities across the region as they step up preparations for the new season and more.
President Mbella and his collaborators spent the early hours of this Friday, April 7 at the National Advanced School of Post and Telecommunications (P& T School) Sports complex.
They inspected the Buea-based facility to ensure it is ready for the four-club exhibition tournament this Saturday, before criss-crossing the region to check out other facilities in preparations for the new season, whose kick-off date is yet to be made public.
Yellow Team, Cinyodev of Buea, Volcanic Warriors of Buea and Option Sports of Limbe are expected to participate in the exhibition tournament opened to the public from 8AM at P&T School this Saturday.
The president Mbella-led commission has been quite active since they were appointed earlier this year. The team is putting in a shift to ensure the right path is set so lovers of the sports can develop their skills.
Last week, the commission organized a seminar for education, sensitisation and the development of Futsal in the region. That event attracted eight aspiring match officials of the game.
Futsal has been in the doldrums in the region and the country alarge, but genuine efforts like president Mbella’s team will only enhance the return of interest in Futsal and give a chance of making results in the region and beyond within the shortest delay.
