Former Cameroon and Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana decided his sides fate in the Serie A round 16 meeting against Napoli that saw them grab all three points.

Taking charge of the goal post today against his brother Zambo Anguissa’s side, Onana made two decisive saves, one of which came at the last minutes to the end of the encounter which almost saw an equalizer.

Inter Milan forward, Edin Džeko scored the lone goal at the 56th minute after a barren first half of play, but managed to keep the lead until the very end, thanks to Andre Onana for a last minute decisive save.

Anguissa’s Napoli were arguably the better side in this encounter with game stats surpassing that of the host but then a defense blunder 11 minutes into the second segment punished the visitors.

The midfield sensation’s 76 minutes played and one shot recorded was nothing near enough to help Napoli out of this encounter even with a point.

Inter created better chances despite Napoli dominating the ball and midfield and a cross from Dimarco paid off with a header-goal from Dzeko.

Andre Onana and teammates become the first team to beat Zambo Anguissa’s Napoli this season after 13 wins and two draws.

However, Napoli still remain commanders of the league with 41 points. While Inter Milan sits 4th with 33 points from 11 wins and five losses.

This is Andre Onana’s third game so far since his premature return from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, making a total of 6 saves in 254 minutes of game time.

Inter Milan sets up a next meeting with 15th placed Monza on January 7. While Napoli meets Sampdoria the day after.
