Indomitable Lion of Cameroon’s striker, Leandre Gael Tawamba has taken his goal scoring prowess to Al Akhdoud where he has handed the club its first win of the season barely 24hours after he joined them.

The 33-year-old scored the lone goal in Al Akhdoud’s 1-0 win over Al Riyadh, the clubs first three points in five outings, having recorded three losses and one draw.

Tawamba parted ways with Al Taawoun on mutual agreement just one day ago, a club he served for five seasons and was top scorer in two of those seasons.

He is reportedly the sacrificial lamp for the coming of a new striker to the club, since the club must let go of one non-Saudi Arabian to sign another foreign player.

The Striker is now committed with Al Akhdoud who made a fast move to get him for one season, joining the club when they sat bottom place on the league table.

It is thanks to Tawamba that the club moves seven places up the classification table, two places above Al Riyadh in less than 24-hours of occupying the bottom spot.

Al Akhdoud’s next meeting is against Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad on September 14, in day six of the Saudi pro league.
