ntermediate lions of Cameroon midfielder Kaiba Djawal, has stated he feels confident being under pressure, ahead of their last Group E game against Niger.
Cameroon will take on the Mena of Niger on Tuesday at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, in a Group E decider at the ongoing African Nations championship in Algeria.
Though Kaiba Djawal and his team are currently top of the group with three points, they will need at least a draw against Niger who has one point, to be sure of finishing top of the three team group.
“Pressure is good starting from the moment when we registered the three points,” Kaiba said during the pre_match press conference on Monday.
“It is not a guarantee that we shall qualify. Niger have a good team but we have worked on our strategy. Niger has the pressure. We do not have the pressure. Tomorrow, we shall try to give all our best to neutralize this,” the cotonsport midfielder added.
The 19_year_old midfielder was instrumental in Cameroon qualifying for the CHAN, and played all 90 minutes in the intermediate lions 1_0 win against Congo.
“All the teams are equal. We have seen progress on the continent recently. We shall do our best to qualify,” Kaiba added.
” We are very determined and want to win this game and we respect Niger. Anything can happen in football. We need to do the best we can to score and get the result that we are looking for. The draw would be welcomed but we want to win this game by respecting Niger.”
Cameroon has had an eight days rest, since their last game on January 16. Niger who drew zero all with already eliminated Congo, will need to win by all cost to qualify for the knockout phase, meanwhile Alioum Saidou’s side needs just a draw.
