Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a push for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, with the club willing to pay €50 million (£41.5m) to secure his signature.
According to Fichajes, Mbeumo has caught the attention of United’s scouts with his impressive form this season, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 20 Premier League appearances.
The 25-year-old’s versatility has also impressed United, having played as a centre forward, right-winger, right-sided midfielder, and second striker under Thomas Frank.
United’s interest in Mbeumo comes as the club looks to strengthen their frontline, with Rasmus Hojlund’s performance against Liverpool on Sunday highlighting the need for a more clinical finisher.
While Brentford is reportedly reluctant to let Mbeumo go, considering him an “irreplaceable” star, United are expected to push to close the transfer before the end of the season.
The next few weeks could be decisive for Mbeumo’s future, as well as that of Joshua Zirkzee, who is reportedly on Juventus’ radar after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
