PM Dion Ngute offers 3M FCFA to ISOHSA, promise more in the semis

Chief Dr Joseph Dion, the Prime Minister and head of the government of the Republic of Cameroon, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute has offered a 3 Million FCFA envelope to 2023 Southwest Regional League champions, Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe during a courtesy visit and meeting with the staff of the club on Tuesday.

Representing the PM at the event which started at 8 at the Hotel Grand President, the Director of Cabinet at the PMs office, Mr. Balungeli Confiance Ebune- appreciated the players efforts so far, while charging them to do more to put the image of the Southwest Region on the News for the right reasons.

“In recent years, people only hear about the Southwest Region when there are discussions about unwanted crises in our country. But through your talent the image of the region is on the spotlight for the right reasons. Keep the flag of the region flying and developing into Cameroonians willing to give their all to enhance nation building,” the statesman stated while delivering the message from the Prime Minister.

Skipper Ashu Brice, who has scored twice and provided an assist in the running to the semi-final appreciated the gesture from the head of government and thank his director for visiting the team, while calling on government ministers to attend games to bring an end to the feeling of abandonment which the players drawn from eight regions of the country share so far.

“This offer from our father will really encourage us. Like the vice president said, at times during this tournament we felt like orphans. However, having the Prime Minister in our midst pushes us to do more,” Ashu stated.

Legendary CRTV staff man, Albert Njie Mbonde who accompanied the Prime Minister’s representative during the event also took time to remind the players of the need to dedicate themselves and achieve promotion to Elite 2 which will increase their chances of using the modern infrastructures president Paul Biya has offered the Southwest Region.

The club’s vice president Angu Lesley also appreciated the Prime Minister for his timely gesture while promising to use the cash to maximize performance of the players during the rest of the competition.

ISOHSA is 90 minutes away from  promotion to the second tier championship. A win against Littoral Regional League champions Pouma FC on Thursday secures the ascension of the club created in 2015.

The club finished top of Pool A with eight points and as the only unbeaten side in the group stage of the competition, but must be at their best when they square up against Pouma FC who finished runners-up in group B with seven points.

Winners of both semi-finals advance directly into the second tier of Cameroon football.

So far, ISOHSA have received extra support from the Paramount Rulers of Buea HRM Dr Robert Esuka Endeley and the Paramount Ruler of Limbe HRM John Elufa Manga Williams, Chief Woka Ndive of Bobende who doubles as the Mayor of Limbe II council, Chief Eko AKA Moja Moja of Bwassa village, the GM of the Limbe deep Seaport Dr Ndive Thomas Mulungu, the SDO for Fako Mr Chaibu, Mayor Paul Efome of the Limbe City Council, the Southwest Regional Assembly kingpin Honorable Nganje Shedill among others.
