“Pilots” Jean-Hugues Eyango Priso and Adamu Musa took charge of Colombe’s flight in Dakar on Sunday, steering the “Oiseau du Sud” past Teungueth FC with a 2-0 victory and bringing the Cameroonian champions closer to the CAF Champions League group-stage promised land.

Eyango Priso was the first to take flight, breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute before Ghanaian forward Adamu Musa struck again in the 47th minute. Together, the two attackers guided the reigning Cameroonian champions through a potentially difficult second preliminary-round test, leaving their team with a precious two-goal cushion ahead of the return leg in Yaoundé on October 25.

For Musa, the goal was another reminder of his importance to Colombe’s continental ambitions. The Ghanaian forward was also decisive against Senegalese opposition in the club’s maiden Champions League campaign last season, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over ASC Jaraaf in Thiès on September 28, 2025. That strike secured a 1-0 aggregate victory following a goalless first leg in Yaoundé, sending Colombe into the second preliminary round.

Colombe had to negotiate another difficult opening round this season, eliminating Stade Malien after two goalless encounters before holding their nerve to win 4-3 on penalties. Their victory over Teungueth now places them in a strong position to advance beyond the stage where their continental journey ended last season.

In 2025, Colombe were eliminated by Algerian giants MC Alger in the second preliminary round after drawing 1-1 in Yaoundé and 0-0 away in Algeria. The Cameroonians went out on the away-goals rule, missing out on a place in the group stage during their first appearance in the competition.

This time, however, the “Oiseau du Sud” have given themselves a valuable advantage. Their two-goal victory in Dakar means they can complete the job on home soil and secure a historic first-ever appearance in the CAF Champions League group stage. The Southern Doves have flown past Teungueth, but the promised land remains one final hurdle away.

Eyango and Musa have piloted Colombe past the Senegalese champions. The Southern Doves now have the CAF Champions League group-stage promised land in sight, but they must complete their journey in Yaoundé, where one final step could turn their continental dream into history.
