Oyem Athletic Club of Gabon women’s team will represent the country at the 2023 UNIFFAC Zonal Qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League in a rare occurrence.
The team and Atletico Akanda had finished top of Group A and B respectively with 12 and 14 points respectively at the end of the regular season.
Instead of playing a playoff or playing a final between the two leaders, the federation decided to proceed to the vote.
Oyem AC get the opportunity to go and represent Gabon in the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.
It got 3 votes against 1 for Atlético to clinch the ticket.
The team will be making its debut appearance at the zonal qualifiers this year.
