Officials of the Cameroon Cycling Federation,have made public the various dates and stage venues for the 23rd edition, of the Grand Prix Chantal Biya International Cycling Tour.
According to the information made public this August 24, the competition shall unfold from October 3-6, in five stages.The bicycle tour, will be marked by the presence of 60 peddlers.
The launching ceremony of the Chantal Biya International Cycling Tour and of the ” Ongola Grand Prix International Tour,” is scheduled to take place on September 13,in Yaoundé.
The town of Kribi shall host the opening ceremony, of the International Chantal Biya race for her first time.
And the first criterium will take place in the seaside resort, town of Kribi on October 3rd.The second lap, will unfold from Yaoundé to Nkoteng in the Centre region, on October 4th.
The third lap scheduled for October 5th,will run from Yaoundé-Ebolowa-Nkolandom . While the fourth lap continues, from Ebolowa-Mengong-Sangmelima on October 6th.
The fifth and final lap of the international bicycle jamboree, is slated for October 7th. And will take place from Sangmelima to the Avebe Round about via Mvomeka’a and Moyemessala.
A total number of 10 teams shall participate in the cycling fiesta; 6 African nations : Morocco, Algeria, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Burkina-Faso and Gabon.
The two European nations to participate in the cycling race are ; Club de la Defense, France and Banska Bystr’ca, Slovakia.
Cameroon’s flag bearers are the National Cycling Team and the highly reputed SNH Velo Club.
Beside, the Chantal Biya International Cycling tour, will hold the second edition of the “Ongola Grand Prix”on October 8th.
