October 28 Kick Off Date Sacrosanct, NNL

  • The NNL has picked October 28 as the new kick-off date everything being equal
  • The championship kick-off for the 2023/24 season has been subjected to a number of postponement in the past weeks
  • Clubs are currently registering players and completing other formalities for kick-off 

The Nigeria National League (NNL) says Saturday 28 October ,2023 scheduled as commencement date for the 2023/24 season remains unchanged.

NNL Chief Operating Officer Dr.Ayo Abdulrahaman speaking to NNL media said the George Aluo led board is determined to proceed with it’s calender of events as agreed at the AGM in Jos.

“We are putting every step right to ensure we kick off as planned. We are trying to avoid draw backs and this is why we have told the clubs to attach huge importance to the kick off date as they go about their registration.”

To this end, Dr Abdulrahaman added that NNL has given it’s forty (40) clubs till Wednesday 18th of October,2023 to meet up with the club Licencing requirements as stipulated in the NNL rule book.

“We need the clubs to submit all registeration materials on the said date. NNL will not be held responsible if they fail to do so.”

The NNL has stated that the match between Dakkada Football Club of Uyo and 1472 Football club of Lagos would be the star match of Match Day One.

The encounter would be decided at the Uyo Township Stadium,Akwa Ibom state.

Club Licensing is one of key criteria for the clubs to participate in the league.
