NWFL Premiership Match Week 3 Statistics

With the highest number of goals scored after three match weeks, match week three continued the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season trend of more home wins.

Four out of six teams won their home games with an away win and a drawn game.

Below are the major statistics for the match week.

1 – Edo Queens’ 1-2 win against FC Robo Queens in Lagos was the solitary away win of the match week.

1 – Bayelsa Queens dropped points for the first time this season after a 0-0 draw with Heartland Queens.

1 – After defeats in its first two games, Heartland Queens picked its first point of the season with a 0-0 draw in Yenegoa.

2 – Delta Queens’ 3-0 win over Royal Queens was the team’s second win of the season after two games.

2 – Royal Queens’ 3-0 loss to Delta Queens was its second defeat of the season after three games.

2 – FC Robo Queens’ 1-2 defeat to Edo Queens was the Lagos Landladies’ second win of the season after three games.

2 – Edo Queens’ 1-2 win over FC Robo Queens was the Benin City-based side’s second win of the season after three games.

2 – Nasarawa Amazons also picked its second win of the season in three games after a 4-0 bashing of Ibom Angels.

2 – Ibom Angels got its second defeat of the season after three games with a 4-0 loss to Nasarawa Amazons.

2 – Impressive Adamawa Queens earned its second win of the season after two games with a 1-0 win over Confluence Queens.

2 – Confluence Queens suffered its second defeat in two league games against Adamawa Queens.

2 – Naija Ratels FC returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Osun Babes with its second win of the season after three games.

2 – Osun Babes’ 3-0 loss to Naija Ratels FC was the Omoluabi Babes’ second defeat of the season after three games.

3 – three players bagged braces in match week three; Mercy Omokwo (Delta Queens), Dooshima Tarnum (Nasarawa Amazons), and Blessing Emmanuel (Naija Ratels FC) all scored two goals for their teams.

3 – Mercy Omokwo (Delta Queens) and Agama Ziperekefeghe (Naija Ratels FC) both with three goals after three games top the goal scorers chart.

4 – Nasarawa Amazons scored the most goals (4) of the match week during its 4-0 win over Ibom Angels.

9 – nine players scored their first goals of the season. Fehintola Mabokanje (Delta Queens), Opeyemi Ajakaye (FC Robo Queens), Ajimuda Rebecca (Edo Queens), Yemisi Samuel (Edo Queens), Winifred Eyebhoria (Nasarawa Amazons), Dooshima Tarnum (Nasarawa Amazons), Amarachi Okoronkwo (Nasarawa Amazons), Sofiat Sotunde (Adamawa Queens), and Blessing Emmanuel (Naija Ratels FC) all opened their goal accounts for the season.
