NWFL Premiership Match Week 2 Statistics

A much-improved number of 13 goals were scored during match week two of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

Delta Queens recorded the first away win of the league season with a 0-2 triumph in Owerri, Imo State capital.

Below are the major statistics for the match week.

1 – Ghana’s Juanita Aguadze became the first foreign player to score in the NWFL Premiership for the season.

1 – The match between FC Robo Queens and Nasarawa Amazons which ended in a 0-0 draw was the only drawn game for the match week and the first of the season.

2 – Edo Queens’ Adaobi Okah was the only player with two goals in match week two. She joined Naija Ratels FC’s Agama Ziperekefeghe at the top of the goal scorers chart with two goals apiece.

2 – Heartland Queens 0-2 loss to Delta Queens was the team’s second defeat of the season after two games. The team lost 3-1 to Naija Ratels FC on match day one.

4 – four teams suffered their first defeats of the season. Confluence Queens, Osun Babes, Naija Ratels FC, and Abia Angels.

5 – five teams picked their first win of the season in match week two. Delta Queens, Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, Royal Queens, and Ibom Angels.

5 – a total number of five away goals were recorded during the match week. Delta Queens (2), Confluence Queens (2), and Osun Babes (1).

11- eleven players opened their goal account for the season; Chinaza Agoh (Delta Queens), Mercy Omokwo (Delta Queens), Joy Jerry (Edo Queens), Adaobi Okah (Edo Queens), Chioma Olise (Edo Queens), Osigwe Chiamaka (Confluence Queens), Peter Martha (Confluence Queens), Blessing Okpe (Rivers Angels), Juanita Aguadze (Rivers Angels), Osaze Enoma Gift (Royal Queens), and Adekemi Akintan (Ibom Angels) all scorer their first goal of the season.

13 – thirteen goals were recorded at the end of the match week. Delta Queens (2), Edo Queens (4), Confluence Queens (2), Rivers Angels (2), Osun Babes (1), Royal Queens (1), and Ibom Angels (1).
