Lethal finisher Marie Giselle Ngah Manga scored a first-half hat-trick as 2023 champions of the Guinness Super League, Lekie Filles mauled relegation-threatened Ngadeu FFA by 4-1 at the Olembe Annex B stadium on Saturday in match day 20 of the championship.
Ngah opened a lead at the top of the scorers chat with her recent display, taking her season tally to 18 goals courtesy her three goals in 32 minutes.
Lekie were already champions going into the fixture but opted to play a strong team including attacking trio Nnanga Raissa, Tabe Brenda and Ngah upfront.
They were largely the better side in the opening but wasted their chances.
Ngah was the difference on the day and made life unbearable for the Ngadeu defence. She scored the game’s opener after 22 minutes. A fine combination with her attacking colleagues left her in space to fire pass Mireille Bolda in goal for the ladies from the Adamawa Region.
Ngah doubled the lead only five minutes later. Benefiting from a poor defensive organization to make it a fourth game this season in which she scored at least two goals.
She completed her second treble of the season in the 32nd before Tabe scored her 14th goal of the season deep into the second segment to make it 4-0.
Sydoni Ewodo converted a late penalty awarded by Referee Diangha Maria Goretti, but it was too little, too late to fetch more than consolation for the side steering relegation two match days before the end of the 2022/23 Guinness Super League season.
The win takes Lekie’s points tally to 53 points in 20 games while Ngadeu remains rooted at the foot of the table with 10 points from 18 matches so far.
Ngah on her part has opened a five-goal advantage ahead of their colleagues Tabe and Ngah who have 13 goals each but are joint second in the top scorer chart.
