The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared the Nigeria senior men’s national team head coach position vacant.
Jose Peseiro who led the Super Eagles to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where the team lost the final match 2-1 to the host left the post after the expiration of his contract.
His contract ended at the end of February and he dropped his farewell message on his X handle.
Peseiro reportedly rejected an improved $80,000 deal as against his asking earning of $120,000 per month.
The NFF has made the position vacant after advertising it on Friday.
Requirements include relevant coaching qualifications and proven experience at the elite level of football management.
It also includes a successful track record in leading teams and knowledge of African football will be an added advantage.
Meanwhile, the position of the U-17 national team coach was also advertised by NFF.
