55-year-old Thomas Libiih , winner of the U-17 AFCON with Cameroon has joined Elite Two side Leopard Sportif of Douala, as the team’s new head coach.
The contract duration of the football tactician, with the “Bana Mba Njoh” club is yet to be made public. Taking over from Benjamin Mongo, Libiih has been tasked to maintain the Littoral club in the second division championship.
The former Tonnerre Kalara Club player makes his come back into the country’s championship, after a short international experience in Djibouti with Arta Solar 7.
Leopard Sportif of Douala has played three games, drawing once and earning two defeats. A bitter pill for the side’s administrators to swallow, coupled with the huge financial investments carried out for the development of the club.
The “Bana Mba Njoh” picked their qualification ticket, for Elite Two, on December 5th , 2018 after beating Abong Mbang FC by 3-1 , in the play-off of the National Interpools at the Fecafoot Training Centre at Odza, Yaounde.
The victory came as a sigh of relief for the fans of Leopard Douala, who had wished to see their darling team join the second tier championship for long.
For the past years, Leopard Sportif of Douala has been working hard for an ascension into Elite One. Unfortunately, her average performance and administrative crisis have always been as a stumbling block.
