- Aigle Royal picked up their first win in five outings against Colombe
- They club defeated Colombe by 1-0 to earn the win
- Junior Beboum made the difference on the day Colombe failed to replicate it’s previous result
Aigle Royal of Menoua pulled one of the big surprises of match day nine of the MTN Elite Two championship as they beat Colombe of Dja and Lobo by 1-0 barely a week after Colombe recorded their best result of the season.
Teenage forward, Junior Tresor Bembong scored the only goal as the El Pacha got the better of their rivals in the game nothing went as planned for coach Ndongo Emma’s Colombe.
The clubs game into the game with the weight of expectations of their fans on the shoulders of the players in anticipation of a victory.
Contrary to the situation in the previous outings against Bamboutos FC, Colombe looked unkempt in their activities in the final third.
Captain Randy Ntube Kwalar and co could have punished Aigle Royal at least twice in the first segment if they were a little more clinical.
Aigle Royal made the breakthrough midway into the second segment when Beboum pounced on a defensive blunder to be Nfor Idris for what turned out to be the winner.
Though Colombe pushed to get the equalizer, it wasn’t to be as coach Temfack Gaston’s team defended well till the end to earn their first win of the season.
Its a perfect start to life after Olivier Nankam for Aigle though they remain rooted to the bottom of the table with six points from nine games and Colombe is seventh with ten points from the same number of games.
