Matchday five of the MTN Elite 2 championship was observed last Saturday and Monday across the country. The latest round of matches produced some exciting results including a first win for Leopards and first defeat for Foncha Street FC and Dynamo of Douala.

Lead scorer Katche Boris took his tally for the season to four goals after his latest strike against Unisport.

Racing stops Foncha

Racing Bafousam beat Foncha Street at the Bamendzi stadium by 3-1 to take the top spot of the league with 10points. This win came after they had beaten Rangers FC Bafut away in Bambili by 1-0.

Carter opened scores for visitors from the spot but hosts were immediately redeemed by Menick Joel’s equalizer. An own goal gave hosts an upper hand in the game with Epoune Louis’ striker doubling the lead and affirming victory for Racing.

Foncha Street FC who had been league leaders since match day one saw their top spot taken away from them after conceiving their first defeat of the season.

Stade Bertoua returns to winning ways after consecutive defeats

Stade de Bertoua got a comfortable three points at home as they lashed out on visitors from Kribi by 2-0. Kalamanji Duhamel scored the opener in the 15th minute and William Ebong completed the job with a 35 meters lob to ensure they return to winning ways after two defeats in a spin.
This win over OFTA of Kribi took the Bertoua side to 5th position with the Kribi side remaining winless at the bottom of the table.

Katche Boris scores again for Rangers

Rangers FC Bafut got a vital point away in Bafang as they held down hosts Unisport to a one all draw. Prior to this result, President Donald of Unisport sent parking his coach Mbongo just after 5games. Ndize’s first half goal gave hosts hope but a spot conversion from Katche Boris in the second have restored equity in the game.

FAP stun struggling travelers Victoria United

AS FAP edged over Victoria United by 1-0 leaving the traveling fans of OPOPO with no moment joy as they hoped to sing a glorious song back to Limbe. Jean Florent Batoum’s goal was the standout factor separating both sides in this encounter.

Leopard KO Dynamo in exciting derby

In a derby of powerful Douala clubs saw Leopard benefit from missed opportunities by Dynamo to dance the final dance of winners.
Samuel Moumie opened scores for Leopard in the first half. Fabrice Balogog Loe missed a penalty to equalize in the 2nd minute of added time before break. Mattias Sevin Malep hit the upright upon resumption, before scoring around the hour mark.

Salomon Nsoh Asaah stole the show as he scored the winner seven minutes from full time.

Aigle Royal too strong for TKC

Aigle du Moungo reminded TKC of their quest to take a further step to the high table next season. A two goals from Tengo Samuel and Ngamdjui Noel without response from Yaoundé visitors was a good Boxing Day gift for Nkongsamba football fans.
