Zambian top-flight championship side Trident FC have completed the signing of experienced Cameroonian forward Abdel Salam Mefira from Canon Yaounde.
According to multiple sources the 23-year-old scorer of three goals in the Cameroon top-flight championship has joined the ambitious club on a two-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.
The club announced they had reached an agreement with the former Eding Sport de la Lekie goal poacher after completing medical and other formalities required for the switch.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Cameroonian striker, Mefira Abdel Salam on a permanent deal. The 23 year old striker joins Trident from Cameroonian gaints Canon Yaounde in a two years contract.”
The club outlined his past feats which obviously contributed in improving their interest.
“Before Canon Yaounde he was the club leading scorer for Eding Sport with 17 goals in the Elite One league which earned him a move to Canon Yaounde. He netted 3 goals for Canon Yaounde in 8 league games last season before deciding to move to Zambia. You are welcome to Zambia and Kalumbila, Salam,” the club statement concluded.
Abdel has been one of the most potent finishers in the Cameroon Elite championship in the past three seasons.
The move abroad provides another chance to show what he is made of after years of delivery with a number of domestic championship sides.
He will join Bong Ngong Lionel and a host of Cameroonians plying their trade in Zambia.
