- Ikose Njuma Conrad and co trained this Monday at the Limbe Community field under the guidance of coach Mbock
- The squad is preparing for their 16 finals cup contest against Stade Renard of Melong that won the Cup in 2019
- The clash likely to happen in Yaounde will be historic as the clubs face off for the first time in their life
Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe players and staff have resumed training in preparations for their 2024 Cup of Cameroon 16 finals clash against Stade Renard of Melong on a date to be announced.
Players of the 2023 Interpools champions who beat Unisport of Bafang 1-0 last Saturday in the previous round of the Cup trained at the Limbe Community field this Monday in preparations for the crucial game to be played at a neutral venue to be announced by FECAFOOT.
Last season’s Cup of Cameroon top scorer, Ikose Njuma Conrad who got the winner against Unisport was spotted at the Community field alongside his team mates – with the likes of Michael Chiffou and Albert Tiku Egbe who missed the previous round match spotted at the ground going through the various drills implemented by coach Mbock Maput and the rest of the technical staff.
The first-ever meeting and competitive clash between Renard and ISOHSA will happen sometime this week in Yaounde everything being equal.
Stade Renard booked their place in the 16th finals courtesy of a comfortable 4-1 win against five-time Cup of Cameroon winners Union Sportive of Douala while ISOHSA eliminated Legends FA of Kumba and Unisport of Bafang to get to this stage for the first time in their history.
The clash promises to be an exciting one, though both sides are missing key elements in their preparations.
Renard will miss teenage sensation Ngobara and head coach David Pagou in the coming game. The former who had a great Elite One season is in France for tryouts while the coach, who is also part of the technical staff of the University of Yaounde is in Garoua for the ongoing 2024 University Games.
The winner of the contest between Renard and ISOHSA will make it to the eight finals of the competition Fovu of Baham won last year upon conquering PWD of Bamenda.
The elimination of big guns like Union Sportive of Douala, Gazelle FA, 2016 winner Apejes, YOSA that won it in 2013 plus 2017 semifinals and even PWD that played two of the past three finals has left many wondering the destination the cup could end at.
