24-year-old Cameroonian professional footballer Martin Hongla Yma II is closely being monitored by two Italian Série A sides Unione Sportiva Salernitana of Manager Davide Nicola and Unione Sportiva Cremonese of Coach Massimiliano Alvini.

As reported by africafootunited.com and darn.com, the former Royal Antwerp midfielder is being monitored and contacts have already been made to Verona to take information on the Cameroonian’s file which a possible offer could be presented before the end of the winter transfer window.

According to reports, the Cameroonian international who is fresh from the 2022 FIFA World Cup staged in Qatar weeks back is visibly less used under the orders of manager Salvatore Bocchetti.

Martin Hongla who joined Hellas Verona on loan during the 2021/2022 football season and later converted his loan deal to a permanent deal in 2022 has featured just for 10 games with Verona and is yet to find the back of the net in this campaign.

Noted for his great ability at the median of the terrain, Hongla may bid fair well to Verona and either embrace offers from Cresmonese FC or Salanitana FC.

The 1.80m tall player started his football career with Nkufo Academy. He later enjoyed three years with Granada, from youth level and graduated to the senior category. He later moved to Barcelona B, Karpaty Lviv, Royal Antwerp then Hellas Verona.

At country level, Hongla has moved from the U17, U20 and U23 levels before joint the national team. He was very instrumental during the African Cup of Nations hosted earlier last year on home soil and played his first World Cup with the Lions in Qatar.

Leaving Verona is not the end of his career but an opportunity for a new challenge.
