Cameroonian midfielder Martin Hongla, has joined la Liga side Real Valladolid on loan from Hellas Verona till the end of the season.

The club announced on Tuesday evening that they have reached an agreement with 24-year-old and his parent club Hellas Verona the transfer of the midfielder, who’s making a return to Spain.

Hongla started his football journey in Spain, passing through the likes of Granada and Barcelona B, before stints in Ukraine for FC Karpaty Lviv, and Royal Antwerp F.C in Belgium, before moving to Hellas Verona in 2021, first on loan before making the move permanent.

The midfielder who can also operate as a center back, has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Hellas Verona this season, and now join a Real Valladolid side that currently sits 17th in the la Liga, with 20 points from 19 games.

Hongla will definitely bring more quality to José Rojo Martín’s side, who recorded a 1-0 win over Valencia on Sunday, and are preparing for their next league game against Real Socieda.

Martin Hongla is a full Cameroonian international, and has represented Cameroon in the various categories. He’s an AFCON winner in 2017, and was part of Cameroon’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World cup in Qatar.
